Random Observations on Sound – I

Having to record sound on a daily basis as a job, I get many new impressions and thoughts. This is a series that will be a way of sharing those. Many of the posts will be very short. Some might also be from other authors. Feel free to leave a comment and contribute with your own sound observation!

At my current job we interviewed a 80 year old man. He was sit down in his quiet living room, with a microphone over his head. Never I heard so many reflux noises from someone’s digestive organs, murmuring between words that sounded involuntary. But most of all, every small and delicate movement with his hands, with fingers entangled on each other, sounded rough almost like that classic brown paper mostly used to put bread in. One could actually hear the texture and dryness of an 80 year old skin.
